Facebook fundraisers allow us to reach people all over the world who care about equity and provide a quick and easy way for them to support.

Facebook collects donations through our fiscal sponsor – Rochester Education Foundation (REF). This guide will help complete all of the steps to set up your fundraiser and make sure that potential donors know exactly where the money will go – the AEE fund.

When you set up your fundraiser you will need to change some information so that potential donors have information about AEE rather than REF. Below we set out 4 easy steps to get your fundraiser in shape:

Step 1: Click on the Facebook logo and choose ‘Fundraisers’ from the menu.

Step 2: Click ‘Select nonprofit’ button

Step 3: Type in ‘Rochester Education Foundation’.

Step 4: This screen has a few different sections to edit. 

• Edit the title to replace Rochester Education Foundation with Action for Education Equity.  
• You can include your reason for choosing AEE and copy and paste our mission:

‘To take action to help students in Rochester, NY thrive by:

 Raising critically needed funds for the Rochester City School District (RCSD)

 Bringing awareness to the systemic inequities that are a barrier to student success.’
