We work with Rochester City School District to identify the students’ most pressing needs and that is where donations are used.

RCSD identify need based on the priorities set out in the Strategic Plan approved by the Board on October 27th 2020.

We believe in absolute transparency so you, as donors, understand exactly how your donations have improved the education of students in RCSD.

2023 Donations

In January 2023, we partnered with Center for Youth to support students who train as Student Voice Leaders for the RCSD ROCRestorative program. These students lead on restorative engagement to improve their school community and to ensure every students feels like they belong. We provided 500 T-shirts for students to wear when facilitating team building circles and bags to transport their facilitation materials to different classrooms.

Action for Education Equity also provided balloon arches for the kick of training events. Students volunteered to be Student Voice Leaders and so each student leader was greeted as they arrived through the arch to celebrate them and the importance of the work they have agreed to do.

2022 Donations

In February 2022 we partnered with our fiscal sponsor, Rochester Education Foundation to give warm feet to 212 RCSD students.

In April 2022 we donated 216 swim caps to Joseph C. Wilson Foundation Academy.

In June 2022 we partnered with the Rochester Area Community Foundation, Xerox and Canandaigua National Bank to donate 1360 sports packs to Middle School Students participating in the RCSD Summer of Discovery Sports camps. The packs contained:

– t-shirts to identify the group when visiting different facilities,

– drawstring bags to carry all their items,
